This image was taken at Red Rock in Arizona during a photography conference in Las Vegas. It was my first year of graduate school and hiking was a grounding experience I enjoyed frequently. 
 
The swirling patterns in the rock combined with the harsh shadows creates a wonderful layering that still draws me in.
